At KIDDYS, we believe every child is a capable, curious and unique learner. Our curriculum provides children with the knowledge, skills, experiences and confidence they need to flourish in their early years and prepare for their next stage of learning.

Rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), our curriculum combines purposeful play, meaningful experiences, strong relationships and intentional teaching. It is responsive to each child’s starting point, interests, strengths and emerging need

Our curriculum is carefully connected from what we want children to learn, to how we support that learning, and finally to the difference it makes. Our Intent, Implementation and Impact framework shows how this journey works at KIDDYS.

The EYFS Early Learning Goals

As children progress through the EYFS, their learning develops across all seven areas of learning and development. The Early Learning Goals describe the statutory expectations assessed at the end of the EYFS and help illustrate where children’s learning is ultimately heading.

At KIDDYS, we build the foundations for this learning progressively through children’s play, experiences, conversations and interactions. The Early Learning Goals are not used as a checklist or curriculum for younger children.

Preparing Children for Their Next Stage

School readiness develops through everyday experiences long before a child starts Reception. At KIDDYS, we support children to become increasingly confident, communicative and independent, while developing the practical and social skills that help them manage their next stage successfully.

Families can strengthen these skills at home too — through simple experiences such as sharing books, taking turns, following routines, dressing independently, communicating needs and encouraging children to try things for themselves.

Your poster gives families 10 practical school-readiness ideas, including listening, sharing and turn-taking, using cutlery, understanding rules, toileting, recognising their name, asking adults for help, dressing, enjoying books and managing their coat independently.

British Values at KIDDY

British Values are woven naturally into children’s everyday experiences rather than taught as a separate subject.

Through play, relationships, choices, routines and experiences within our community, children begin to understand democracy, individual liberty, the rule of law, mutual respect, and respect and tolerance for people with different faiths and beliefs.

These principles complement our wider curriculum by helping children learn to listen to others, make choices, understand boundaries, respect differences and develop positive relationships.

Working in Partnership With Families

Parents and carers know their children best. We value families as partners in children’s learning and encourage them to share children’s interests, achievements, experiences and any changes or concerns.

This helps us build a fuller picture of each child and creates meaningful connections between home and KIDDYS.
